MORMON THEMED RESTARAUNTS

{ had to share }

There is an idea floating around Utah, Arizona, Idaho and California for a chain of non-pretentious Mormon-themed restaurants called "The Steak Center" (Where There's Never a Dry, Boring Meating!).

Each Steak Center will have one enormous dining area with basketball hoops at either end and folding metal chairs and long tables covered in plastic tablecloths.

The Steak Centers will not have hostesses, but greeters -- men in their seventies will meet you at the door and talk like they have known you all your life.

The main menu items for lunch and dinner will be:

Porterhouse Rockwell Steak

Primary Rib

Poor Wayfaring Pan of Beef

Parsley P. Pratt Funeral Potatoes

Eliza R. Snow crab (in season)

And It Came to Pasta

Kraft MacaMoroni and Cheese.

Breakfast items will include

Pearls of Great Rice

Frosted Minivans

Adam-ondi-Omelettes

Also available In Our Lovely Desserts:

Fast Sundaes

Gadianton Cobbler

Laman Meringue Pie (just sinful!) Our featured beverage of the month will be Grape Nephi.
The waiters will be 12-13 year-old boys wearing white shirts and their fathers' ties..

At the end of the night, the customers will be asked to help fold up the chairs and tables and vacuum the floor.

Franchises are selling faster than Sunbeams on Skittles! Get yours while they last!

parties, puddings, pirates.....oh my!

{ PARTIES }
I was asked by a good friend of mine who lives in Springville to make a cake for her daughter's birthday! How could I say no! Now when Vikki throws a party, she throws a party! I am so excited to see how this whole Balloon Olympics is going to be! I hope parents can participate too! (hint hint) Vikki gave me the idea of what she wanted and in true awesome Vikki form told me that I had complete artistic reign! Here is what I cam up with! I think it turned out pretty darn cute and it's my favorite cake recipe, chocolate. I cannot wait until tomorrow to take this to the party. I hope Erica likes it.....eek!

{ PUDDING }

Do you ever get a craving for something that lasts for days...weeks....months....? I have been craving rice pudding so incredibly bad. So, when we were little and would make rice pudding, it was very simple: leftover rice, milk, cinnamon, sugar, heat in the microwave for a few minutes, and enjoy!. But last night I thought I might try a real rice pudding.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It was AMAZING! Basically it was the same ingredients, but it just took more time, and the use of the stove. I also added raisins to mine. Caitlyn actually tried it and liked it and ate more than one bite... (WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!) No, I kid you not she did! (WHAT THE GREAT SWIRLING ONION RINGS!!) I know! It was wonderful. Anyway, try it! Great way to use up that extra rice! So low fat! ( ha ha ha )

{ PIRATES }

Joey and Heather invited us and the Campbell family for a night with pirates! It was so much fun! I wasn't even bothered by the poor British accent from the hostess! (it was really bad, I mean worse than mine bad) The place was decked out from wall to wall, floor to ceiling. I felt like I was in Disneyland again. They have a really nice menu too, I was so impressed. The play area for the kids was amazing, and once those kids had their fancy balloon swords, they were in heaven! A battle broke out amongst those cousins that will go down in history. It was hilarious to watch them run up and down that ship hitting eachother with those balloons!

Here is Taylar giving a perfect reanactment from "ELF", remember that! BWA HA HA HA HA

It was horrible! Blood, guts, popped balloons...oh the HORROR!

It was so much fun, and so nice to get to know the Campbell's better! What a cool family! I hope we get a chance to go again soon!

good morning sunshine

Woke up at 4:00 this morning from an oh so lovely bathroom dream - you ever have those? - anyhooooo, here I am, still awake at 5:00! I am really just enjoying the quiet house, my cozy slippers - those things don't leave me feet once those cold north winds start a blowin' - sipping homemade honey lemon tea from this young mans head,

and wondering if the sounds from my Dad's room overhead should be worrying me......m-m-m-m! Oh goooooody! Elise just walked in - hurray an early morning friend - she is wearing a most delicious frock! She has just told me the name of this piece from her early morning line, but I do not think I will share it. *blushes* OH GOODNESS! Well, drat, she has gone back to her room. I suppose I will go now too. Not off to bed, dear reader, oh no! I am going to perhaps do some things that I have been wanting to do and have just not had the time lately to really dive into.
a) train that baby hippo to jump through that ring of fire
b) finish learning that Cher song on the spoons
c) go yell at my patio furniture
d) finish wrapping those empty airplane sick bags for Christmas - you lucky friends you!
e) paint my roses red, I don't want to loose my head - eek!
f) sign up for those water sqaure dancing lessons
g) work on patenting my bra-less bra
Bless the early morning!
